How to renew an accessible parking spot

If you already have an accessible parking spot on your street, you can renew it in a few different ways.

If you are a driver, you'll need to renew your accessible spot every two years. If you are a passenger, you'll need to renew your accessible spot each year.

When you give us your information, make sure all your forms are easy to read and your photos are clear. Please don’t give us X-rays or medical records. You just need to have your doctor fill out the medical section of your application.

If you drive your car:

• print out and complete the renewalapplication
• have the medical form completed by your doctor

You also need to give us updated copies of your:

• car registration at your Boston address
• Disabled Parking Placard showing your photo, ID number, and expiration date
• your Massachusetts driver’s license, if you are the driver , or the Massachusetts driver's license of someone who drives you regularly if you are a passenger

Your application may take up to six weeks to process. Once we've made our decision, we'll send you an approval or denial by mail.
